Highness Supports Global Conservation and Protection of Sea Ice Polar Bear Affair Gala

Amana Manori as a board member of Polar Bears International (PBI) and CEO of Highness hosts guests at the second annual Polar Bear Affair at the Four Seasons in Toronto. It was an enchanting evening with 300 guests who gathered to show their support for environmental conservation. The evening was emceed by Justin Fornal, an explorer, author, and extreme athlete. The evening included a panel discussion with Justin and Dr. Steven C. Amstrup, PBI’s chief scientist; the premiere of a moving video highlighting the story of Ursula, a Western Hudson Bay polar bear; and a performance by the Juno award-winning band, The Arkells.  The event raised more than $727,000 in support of the science-based work of PBI plus gala attendees donated $200,000 to help fund the completion of Polar Bears International House, the non-profit’s new interpretive centre and base camp in Churchill, Manitoba – the polar bear capital of the world.
